Det Levda Baklänges (We who lived backward)

Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Reykjavik / 2016 Osynliga Teatern & Dramaten, Sort/Hvit, City theatre reykjavik, Skillinge Teater, Folkteatern Göteborg
The story is set in the immigration office. The audience is invited to take part in the story with the use of VR googles and they take part of an interrogation setting. Through the glasses they experience the situation of Marwan Arkawi, a 23 year old refugee from Syria, they are now in his shoes – the audience “becomes” Marwan and experience what he been through – from leaving/escaping his home to the interrogation in a foreign country. The interrogation is held backwards – you are him.
The second part of the performance he asks you to take of the googles and in front, a person you have never seen but realize it´s the person you have been during the first part. And he starts to tell the entire story as it should be told not backwards – but from A to Z. It’s a performance that invites the audience to experience and take part in the story of a life, backwards and forwards.
